15th-20th December - Troop Camp

Troop camp this year was a major success, and both the boys and the Scouters thoroughly enjoyed the week.

Amongst the highlights was building a large raft to play with on the river involving much chopping, lashing, drilling and screwing, but which was well worth the effort! Another highlight was building an enormous trebuchet which managed to hurl a large log almost 50m. The boys also enjoyed a (somewhat rainy) hike through a kloof, delicious food, cooling off in the Breede, building their own shelters, and a big campfire to end things off.

The camp was also a good opportunity for the boys to tick off many of their advancement items, and all of them did just that! Not only did they have fun but they gained many technical skills, leadership ability and a greater appreciation for nature and the comforts of home! Thanks all for your effort and support.
